Fred Holcomb

Seattle-based painter Fred Holcomb captures the varied landscape of the West Coast from the Pacific coastline to dense forests to desert expanses. Exquisitely rendered and often large in scale, Holcomb’s oil paintings meld tranquility and grandeur.

Fred received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Washington in 1972 and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2006. After graduating from architecture school, he worked as an architect until leaving the profession in about 2000. He has exhibited his paintings frequently for the past 25 years, primary in the Northwest, and is included in numerous public and private collections including the Swedish Medical Center, the City of Seattle, the Weyerhaeuser Corporation, and the Fred Hutch Cancer Center.
